The main phone number for the Veterans Crisis Line is 988, then press 1. You can also connect by texting 838255 or chatting online at VeteransCrisisLine.net/Chat. The previous number, 1-800-273-8255 and pressing 1, is still active.
The Veterans Crisis Line is available 24/7, 365 days a year and provides free, confidential support to Veterans, service members, their families, and caregivers. You don't need to be enrolled in VA benefits or health care to contact them. They can provide support even if you are not currently having thoughts of suicide but are experiencing another form of crisis. Deaf and hard of hearing individuals can use online chat and text message (838255), and TTY users can use their preferred relay service or dial 711 then 988.

At National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS), we believe that every veteran deserves a place to call home. Since 2008, our mission has been to ensure that no veteran in Central Florida has to face homelessness. We provide a blend of immediate assistance and proactive prevention to address both urgent needs and the root causes of homelessness, offering comprehensive support to those at risk and those currently experiencing homelessness.

Building Battle Buddies was founded in 2025 by Matthew Tarlton, Angela Young, and Billy Skipper to pair rescue dogs with Combat Veterans, Law Enforcement Officers, and First Responders through a 21-day immersive training program. The goal: save two lives at once.
